Our Story

A family florist shop set in the heart of East Cork, flowers are our true passion. Ina McCarthy for Flowers is successfully run by mother (Ina) and daughter (Rachel), and an amazing team of florists behind them.

Ina McCarthy for Flowers was founded by Ina herself back in 2006. A trained florist with an eye for colour and detail, Ina built up years' of experience working in local florist shops across Ireland after studying Art at college.  A health scare in 2004 made Ina realise she had to have no regrets in life, and she took a leap of faith to follow her dream to open her own flower shop. And so Ina McCarthy for Flowers opened their shop doors in 2006 and never looked back!

Ina's daughter Rachel was at Art college at the time of the shop opening, having picked up her mums artistic flair! When the flower shop first opened, Rachel said she would help out for 2 weeks ... and 12 years later is still here! Rachel fell in love with retail floristry, being able to use her passion for creativity and be part of the family business. She went on to study FETAC Level 5 in Floristry and Shop Management, and both Ina and Rachel have completed numerous flower courses over the years to help keep ideas and techniques fresh.

Our shop was originally opened in a smaller premise in 2006, and over the years demand for our flowers meant we needed more shop floor and workshop space to prep all our design work! So in 2011 we took the chance to move to a bigger premise, set in a beautiful period property on the main street of Midleton. Our beautiful retail shop is always full to the brim with seasonal blooms, fresh foliage, unique gifts and laughter!

We are lucky to have our family flower shop nestled in East Cork, which is such a stunningly beautiful corner of the world. County Cork is a very popular area, with many leading wedding venues including historic country houses such as Ballymaloe, Barnabrow, Ballyvolane house, Ballinatray house and luxury hotels such as Castlemartyr Resort, Garryvoe, Midleton Park and Fota Island - all within a 30 mile radius of our florist shop in Midleton. We also travel further afield for special weddings including West Cork, Kerry and other counties.

With all these amazing wedding venues on our doorstep, Ina McCarthy for Flowers have proudly built up a grand reputation for our bespoke wedding flower service. As specialists in wedding flowers, we adore working with happy Brides & Grooms, who come to us to make their wedding flower dreams come true - it is so special to be involved in their big day.
